Hmmmm what has been going on since I last wrote? Well considering before I started this post I didn't look to see when I last wrote I really don't know whats happened. I could very well be repeating things but I am sure you will want to hear it all again anyways since it is so very interesting....
So Paige has now lost her first tooth. It was sometime at the end of January. I was a bad Mom and didn't write down the exact date. For shame! She has another loose tooth which should be falling out anyday. I will make sure I record that date.
She tells me that she is never spending the money that she got. She is going to keep it forever. Whatever... I've already borrowed it and I have to pay her back. lol.
Paige is doing awesome at school. It still shocks me at how well she reads. Did I read that well in grade 1? I think they are starting younger these days. Sometimes I am fairly shocked at the work they are doing. They even had to do public speaking! And some of the kids in their class memorized a 3 min speech! They are 6! Holy crackers!
Koby is struggling with school. He is not behaving in class. It is a daily struggle. At this point I am at a loss as to what to do. I don't think he is interested at all in what he is doing and therefore he fights it. I don't think its that he can't do it. Though his writing is not as strong as it should be. We will continue to work on it at home and perhaps that will give him the confidence to do better. He is too much like his father. When he doesn't want to do something he just doesn't. Sigh.
Brianna is learning more and more. She isn't saying too many words yet (though she can, she just chooses not to) but she understands EVERYTHING! She is a smartie pants. She now has 12 teeth. Her canines have yet to make an appearance but we have all 4 of her 1st year molars.
She LOVES frozen peas. I think she has an addiction actually. Its the first thing she asks for in the morning and she probably asks me for more another 5 times during the day.
As for me, I am contemplating going back to work. I actually applied for a job as a pharm tech. I doubt I will hear back because they want at least 1 years experience but what they don't know is if they don't contact me they are missing out on a kick ass employee. lol. Its the truth.

I feel I have to blog.....lol

My wonderful WTE ladies have made me feel compelled to blog again... I feel like I journal 3 times because I jot down notes, then I write them in an actual journal with paper and a pen (YES you can still do it that way! Who da thunk it! lol) and now I am going to also write it here. Each copy will be different but with basically the same info. So here goes:

I will start with the oldest. Yes its only 5 mins but he is the oldest nonetheless.

Koby:

I am shocked and amazed by the progess he has made in the 4 mths he has been in Grade 1! Since he never went to Junior Kindergarten like Paige he was a bit behind going into Senior Kindergarten. He had to do 2 years in one. Entering Grade 1 he was still behind but doing ok. No where near where Paige was though. The 4 mths in Grade 1 he has totally caught up! He is reading at the same level as Paige. He went from not totally recognizing all of his letters to being able to read at level 7-8 in his books! I can't explain what that level is but to see and hear him read is friggin crazy fantastic! I am so proud of him! :)

He continues to be a total boys boy. He is rough and tumble. He has wanted to be a rockstar for a long time but yesterday he told me if he works hard enough and practises enough he can be a rockstar AND a snowboarder! Olympics here we come! lol.

He can be totally serious and then totally off the wall 2 seconds later. He can have such a sweet, good heart but can tease his sister mercifully and be naughty. Sometimes I think I should be a raging alcoholic to be able deal with him and sister twin sister. ha ha.
Koby loves to help and feel needed. Make him think that you are totally unable to do something if it wasn't for his help and he will be glowing about it all day long. He is such a sweetie.

He LOVES his little sister. Brie spent the first night away from us on Dec 18th at Gannie's and Koby was going to go to Nan's but decided he should go with Brie to make her feel comfortable. He told me he was going to be her like her "Daddy" while she was there because he knows what she needs and likes. Ahhh...he can melt my heart. :)

Paige:

Paige is doing amazingly academically! She is one smart cookie! Common sense is lacking big time but put a book in front of her and you will be astonded. She will do well. All the teachers say so. She is still very shy and very crazy. She acts like an animal all the time. She knows a lot about the said animals though. She pays attention. I think Diego has been a great inspiration. She also has a few dinosaur movies that she watches repeatedly. She definitely has a kind soul.

Paige is a handful though and full of piss and vinegar. She doesn't listen well and beats to her own drummer. She is going to be a hard one to rein in. I might have to tie her to the house when she is older. Hopefully I can pound some common sense into her before she hits her teenage years. lol.

So far she wants to be a vet when she grows up. That has been pretty consistent for a few years now. I have no doubt that she will do it. She is very stubborn when she wants something.

She is constantly counting, or writing, and asking questions. Her mouth never stops moving. Its cool to see the world through her VERY inquistive eyes. VERY.

I am hoping to get her back in some sort of after school activity because I think she needs to "unleash her demon" as I call it somewhere constructive.

Brianna:

She is now 18 mths old. She is so funny. She makes me laugh all the time. Her vocab is hugely increasing lately. She probably says about 20 or so words at this point. Her latest are "nu" for "nose" and "Na-na" for Gannie. On Dec 21st she said "I love Momma." It sounded like "I dav Momma." Best thing EVER!

She loves candy canes! I gave her a piece of one at one point and now she is addicted! I don't want her to have them but she is doing whatever she can to get one. We put them high up on the tree and she figured out that if she gets up in the bay window she can reach them. So now they are off the tree.

She LOVES her suckies! I am not sure how I am going to be able to get them away from her. I want to have them gone by the time she is 2. That is when I took it away from Paige and Koby. It was pretty easy with them. Hopefully it goes well with Brie too.

When Brie went to Gannie's house on the 18th to my total shock and amazement she slept through the night! I couldn't believe it when my Mom told me. Why do kids always have to prove you wrong. I told my Mom to expect her to wake up screaming and have to come in her bed and nope....thats not what she decided to do. The next day we moved Brie out of her room and into ours and moved Koby out of ours and into Brie's old room and she has been sleeping better. I guess she just needed to know someone was in the room with her. She is still waking up but she is not screaming or standing....she is just sitting and whining. I have been able to say "night night Brie" and she has gone right back to sleep! WTF?! I have my bed back! Its a friggin miracle! I am sleeping better. My back and neck are not sore from being driven to the end of my queen sized bed and hanging on for dear life. I love it!

Brie loves to be tickled and to tickle :) I have to get her on video doing it. She makes the cutest sound. She loves everyone Koby "Ko-ko" and Paige "Gee-gee" do. She is amazed by them. Typing this right now she is lying on the couch cuddling with Paige and she said "My Gee-gee" So friggin cute. All day long while they are at school she says "Ko-ko Gee-Gee" like one word. Its almost like a song. So adorable.

OMG I forgot this blog even existed. Its been 2 years since I have posted on it. I don't know if it is going to be something I will keep using but we shall see. Ok so whats been happening the last 2 years.

Ok... so we decided to add another child to our family. We started trying in Jan 2008 and unlike last time it took me 9 mths to get pregnant. A whole pregnancy worth of time. I went to the doc in Oct of '08 because my cycle had been basically non-existent for a year and I was concerned that I was not going to be able to have another baby. Low and behold a week after this appt I discover that I am pregnant!!! Weird. We decided that we definitely want to know the gender of the baby even though right from the start I just knew it was a girl. Our 20 week ultrasound comes and little baby won't cooperate. She has her legs closed tightly and there is no way she is showing us the goods! Damn :(

I decide right there and then that I am going to book a 3D ultrasound (I probably would have anyways). I book it for 30 weeks because they say that before that its not as cool an experience. So 10 weeks to wait. OMG they were LOOOONNNG! I am a planner and I NEED to know these things. The waiting KILLED me!

Finally the day of the ultrasound arrives and right away the tech says "Its a Girl!" I looked at Barry and said "I told you!" Everyone thought it was a boy. I was the only one that said girl. And of course I was right...as usual lol.

So the planning and the buying began ....though secretly I had already bought some girl things...ha ha.

Spring/Summer is HERE!

The nice weather is finally here and I have a new camera soooo.... we have been out in the yard playing and I have been playing with the camera.. New camera + nice weather = lots of pics to share. These are some pics that I took today while we were outside enjoying the sunshine. Don't be alarmed...yes Koby is wearing pink boots but they are Paige's, not his. His boots got wet when they went in some water. He does not wear these on a regular basis :)

These 2 pics were taken in the field behind our property where there is a very old and rusty bulldozers ...or dowldozer as the kids call it.... They have taken quite a liking to it and so we went for a walk over to it today and I decided to get some pics. This first one is of them sitting in the big scoop.
You can see Bella in this pic. She has gotten really big. She is such a good dog. She loves the kids and they love her. She gets a little over excited when people come over but other than that she is excellent. She just has too much love to give and doesn't know how to control herself. She is only 5 months so she is still learning. She loves Paige the best I think and is always trying to chew her boots as she is doing in this pic.

Update!!

Yes its about time....I don't use this thing very often...not as often as Catherine would like me too. Anyways here goes....

So since the summer let's see. Paige started ballet in September and ended it the end of October. She didn't like it. She is shy and just wasn't ready, though she looked darn cute in her outfit. :( Maybe we will try in the fall. One thing she really didn't like about ballet was the fact that I had to do her hair for it. She was not overly impressed. I told her she needs to get used to these things. I would really like to put her in gymnastics as it is less structured but the registration times are always scheduled at times that it is impossible for me to get too....we'll see. Maybe I will have to send someone else to do it for me. Any takers?!!!

Koby hasn't changed all that much although his hair is starting to get darker as we knew it would (sniff sniff)... he is quite the funny little man (and I say man because he thinks he is). He tells us very serious stories and has the hands flying about. He is excited to be starting school soon and talks about that quite often. He still loves his "jammies" and wants to wear nothing but. I have told him that when he goes to school he cannot wear jammies. That all the other kids will be dressed. He says that clothes make him itchy ...he is too funny. He still loves his cars/trucks/trains/helicopters/tractors and plays with nothing but. Paige plays right along with him as she is still NOT my little girly girl. Its sad when you have to buy your daughter cars and trucks for Christmas because that is what she wants ..he he.

Halloween was fun. Koby dressed up as a red dragon (though he wouldn't wear the hood part...he said he didn't want to scare people) and Paige was a cute and beautiful little pink butterfly. I bought Paige's costume first and then when I saw the dragon at another store I knew they would be happy because they could both fly. Having one able to fly and the other not would have been disasterous. ;) We went on the usual tour of Barry's parents house and then into my Mom and Dad's and then trick or treated around there. This year we took a bit of a different route of the streets farther west of them and I think we will do that again next year! SCORE!!!

We decided in the fall that we would get a new puppy so when I saw an add in mid November we decided to go look. What we saw we fell in love with right away. We went and looked at beautiful yellow lab puppies that were born on November 7th. They were only a week old. We weren't going to take the kids with us but then decided that it would be neat for them to be able to be part of the process of picking the puppy from the litter. Since we were the first customers we got our choice of all 8. We decided on the smallest of the females which was also the lightest in colour. She is sooo cute. We had to wait until December 22nd to bring her home. The couple we got her from were very good and sent us pics on a regular basis. By the end of November we had decided to call her Bella so I let them know and they started calling her that so she would get used to it. She was a wonderful Christmas present for the kids.

Koby's First Fish

I am proud to announce that Koby has caught his first fish!!! After Barry and the kids dropped me off at work on Tuesday they went fishing on Highway 33 near Batawa. Koby was very excited and was very proud of himself. He is a little man. Paigey assisted with the catch and stood by her brother as he reeled it in.

Later Barry was looking for the worms and when he couldn't find them he asked Paige if she knew where they were. She told him that they wanted to go back with their mommies, that they missed their mommies. She had thrown them in the water and she also was very proud of herself!

Summer

So we have basically one more month of the summer remaining....so far it has been really good. The kids play outside all day long and since Daddy is currently not working he gets to hang out with them while I do all the inside stuff. It has worked out nicely for me. I do spend a lot of time outside but I don't have to worry about not getting things done and when I am sick of the heat I can come inside. BONUS!!! We have done a lot of four-wheeling...I think that that thing has more km's on it then my car. We have access to a lot of property behind us so we go into the woods probably at least 10 times a day. I think that Santa will have to bring us a second 4-wheeler so that the 4 of us can go together. Then we can really go on some adventures.

On the long weekend in July we celebrated Paige and Koby's 3rd Birthday!!! They had Davis as their guest. In attendance also were Gannie and B-pa, Nannie and Papa, Seesaw (Catherine) and a couple of my friends from work. We had a really good time. Gannie brought a really cool cake in the Cars Movie theme. They loved the car on top but its too bad there wasn't 2 of them. They are getting better at sharing though so it didn't go over too badly. Plus they both got some cars and trucks for presents so there was lots of new stuff to go around.

That night we went down the see the Canada Day fireworks. The kids LOVED it and then fell asleep as soon as they were over.

We bought a new play structure for the kids for their birthday and they have been showing us daily how they have developed their skills on the swings. They like for you to sit right near them while they are swinging so they can "get you." It is rather funny but can be tiring sitting there hour after hour. They don't like for you to leave.

On the kids actual birthday (July 3rd) we had a visit from someone that they hadn't seen in over a year.....AUNT ANN!!!! They were thrilled as was she. After a brief moment of shyness they were climbing on Aunt Ann like she was a junglegym!! They adore her. They got to spend the afternoon with her and showed her how well they can fly on their swings. The next night we all went into Gannie's for supper and a get together with some friends that we had not seen in a long time. It was a good evening. The next day Koby and I went for a drive with Aunt Ann and Uncle Scottie into Brighton. Ann couldn't believe how much the little town had grown. Paigey stayed home because we needed to take a nap. A long week was catching up with her. That night we again went into Gannie's for supper and had a baby shower for Ann. We all had a good time. The next morning it was goodbyes to Aunt Ann on the phone as she was heading back to Ottawa and flying out Sunday morning.

I am going to be enrolling Paige in Ballet with Mrs. Brown this September. I am hoping that she will not be too shy to dance. I had bought a little ballet outfit at Giant Tiger months ago and the other day I decided to try it and her and get her used to wearing stuff like that. She is going to be a natural. As soon as I put it on her I got some great shots. She danced all over the garage and out by the fence. Koby thought her outfit was pretty cool too.

Yesterday we took the kids to Wicklow Beach in Lakeport. They had a really good time throwing rocks in the water. They are not too keen on swimming but Barry did take them in with him a little. We spent a couple hours there, had lunch on the beach and then headed home.

I have been really enjoying my camera and have gotten some really good shots of the kids if I do say so myself. Koby is really hard to get pictures of because he thinks its a game and he hides on me..or he turns just as I click the picture (my camera is slow) so most of the good shots are of Paige. I keep telling Koby that I will get him someday. When I get my new camera this won't be an issue...lol.

As the summer progresses I look forward to more adventures with the family but even if we don't go anywhere as long as we are together that is all that matters to me. I love spending time with them, even if it is at home. They fascinate me just watching them do everyday things.
